Our Approach and the Montessori Curriculum
The Montessori curriculum is designed to follow each child’s developmental needs and interests, offering hands-on materials across core areas like practical life, sensorial learning, math, language, and cultural studies. Children move through lessons at their own pace, mastering foundational skills before progressing to more complex concepts. Overall, the curriculum emphasizes independence, critical thinking, and a natural progression from concrete experiences to abstract understanding.
Practical Life
Taking care of one's self, taking care of the environment, control of coordinated movement, grace and courtesy lessons help children to become independent, build their
character, while strengthening their will power. It also fosters perseverance and patience as well as to help children learn how to relate with others in the social aspect.
Sensorial
When children are manipulating the specifically designed and calibrated materials, their visual, audio, tactile, taste, smell and stereognostic senses allow children to develop the ability to distinguish, compare, and categorize their impressions based on a secure internal order which in turn builds their intellect preparing them for more complex ideas like reading and math.
Language
We have 3 aspects of Language: Spoken Language, Written Language, and Reading Language. We provide enrichment of vocabulary along with language training, and sound games. We start with sounds, physical letters, and the child's mind naturally starts to synthesis these into words, and reading follows when their mind is ready to take the next leap.
We don't/won't force reading, it organically develops as the mind develops.
Children will not only know definitions, but also how to "read between lines” to grasps the emotions, as well as what the author wants to convey beyond the words.
Mathematics
When the Mathematical mind of children is awakened, they start to establish relationships, recognize patterns, acquire order
and they naturally start to classify. Our math materials are designed to facilitate understanding numbers and how to utilize them. Through hands manipulation of physical materials, they will understand the abstract concepts of mathematics.
The logical and reasoning parts of the mind will develop and young children love math because they really understand it and can use it in their everyday lives.
Cultural Education
The three areas of cultural education are Botany, Zoology, Geography and Social Sciences. In the cultural aspect, children get to know and recognize customs from the different continents around the world. We will expand children’s
horizons, foster children’s international perspectives, encourage feelings of gratitude, as well as a sense of belonging to the world around us.
